Olu Maintain, the only standing member of defunct group, Maintain, has officially premiered his new single, Hypnotize.
The track, widely tipped to dominate the airwaves in 2013, features internationally acclaimed American RnB singer, Olivia, who was the first woman to be signed on to G-unit records in 2004 — and until 2007. She is most remembered for featuring Candy Shop, one of the songs on G-Unit’s debut album, Beg for Mercy, and 50 Cent’s album, The Massacre.
Hypnotize, produced by Tayo Adeyemi, fuses the homegrown Nigerian lyrics of Olu with the foreign effect of Olivia’s chorus.
After going quiet for a while, Olu Maintain is fast regaining his space in the Nigerian musical space, after the release of NAWTI in 2012.
NAWTI won the artiste the Best Reggae Video of the Year award and Dancehall Video of the Year at the Nigerian Music Videos Awards (NMVA).
