The remains of Skibobo crooner former Big Brother of Africa House mate, Goldie Harvey will be laid to rest today.

A statement by the President of Kennis Music, Mr Kenny Ogungbe, informed that the family announced her burial arrangement on Sunday.

The late singer would be would be interred at the Private Vault at Ikoyi Lagos starting from 10am.
To die on the evening of Valentine’s Day is not romantic. It is a tragedy. Especially so, if the deceased was someone you saw her photos on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards that took place over the weekend. The shocking news of Goldie’s death was the last thing anybody expected.

Goldie Harvey, 31, died of hypertension few hours after a long flight from LA to Lagos. The pop artiste, whose real name was Susan Filani, had complained of a severe headache at her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos. Rushed to Reddington hospital in Victoria Island, she was pronounced Dead-On-Arrival (DOA) by doctors.

Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey often synopsized as Nigeria’s Lady Gaga, was a colourful performer of eccentric persona whose eclective creativity was accentuated by the infusion of pop art into her music videos.

While studying Business Management at the University of Sunderland in the UK, she and a couple of friends formed an informal music group that went as far as recording a couple of demos. Back in Nigeria, she’d focused on building her date-reminder services business.

Later, she opened a new vista for herself when OJB Jezreel produced her first single, “Komole.” Three other subsequent singles gave her a compilation CD and Goldie became a Kennis Music artiste in 2010. Her debut album, Gold, spawned three popular tracks “You Know It,” “JawoJawo” and “DTMB” (Don’t Touch My Body) whose videos won her awards.
